Thrive Community is a Patient Advocacy Group dedicated to ensuring that individuals with chronic autoimmune conditions in Kenya can live fulfilling, healthy lives. Our work focuses on three critical areas: patient advocacy in corporate, public, and educational spaces; improving mental health through support initiatives; and reducing the financial burden of treatments by facilitating the sharing of resources.

Annual Awareness Events
We host two annual events to build community and visibility: World Lupus Awareness Day Hangout (May 10th) and The Purple Parade (Our annual 7.5KM walk for autoimmune awareness). Each event is a celebration of strength, solidarity, and the power of being seen.

Regional Support Groups
We are a decentralized network. Our warriors connect through regional, peer-led support groups across the country. The Nairobi Chapter hosts Monthly Hangouts at the Bomblast Memorial Park (Nairobi) for learning, games, and the Warrior Marketplace.

Affordable Treatment
Living with chronic illness is costly. We negotiate strategic partnerships with institutions to reduce the cost of care, and from donor funds, we help offset portions of bills for medication, specialist consultations, and therapy, ensuring life-saving support for warriors in need.

The average cost of a specialized treatment can deplete a family's insurance in a single dose. We believe no warrior should navigate this journey in isolation or have to choose between life-saving medication and survival.
